» The Debate Forum Rules: Read this before posting!

This forum is the home to all of those threads which become debate-oriented. Sometimes people just disagree on issues--a normal, healthy aspect of diversity. These disagreements can engender valuable discussion that enhances understanding and tolerance (at least we hope so!).

All threads that evolve in this direction will be moved here.

If you don't like spirited debate, then you don't need to torture yourself by coming to this forum :)

THE EXISTANCE OF THIS FORUM IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR A FREE-FOR-ALL.

There are RULES that must be observed:

-Be respectful and courteous at all times. Read the user guidelines for the Forum--they are strictly enforced.

-If you disagree with someone, you are expected to support your argument with rational dialog. Go ahead and share your reasoning, but do so in a calm and sensible way.

-No shouting. You've seen this elsewhere on the internet. In this list of rules I've posted using all capital letters above (because it is a list). If you use all caps in a discussion post, it is the equivalent of yelling at someone. Avoid this.

-Any debate that degenerates in any way to a personal attack will be suspended and the offending member will be either given a warning (the only one they'll get) or if they have overtly broken any site rules they will be banned. Remember: Courtesy.

Happy Thanksgiving, all. We don't 'do' thanksgiving here, which is a great shame because, to my mind, it's much more soulful than the commercial form of Xmas we have here... Whilst on BC years ago we were blessed to be part of a wonderful communal harvest gathering and sharing with my Aus-born Canadian friend, and it was really lovely! smile.gif

May 2017 bring you all things good. 🌹🌹❤️🌹🌹

(BTW, Hawk and KG, I played your flutes at a cabaret night at the weekend a cappella workshop, and agin was met with really enthusiastic feedback and many questions re the "amazing", "beautiful", "transporting" instruments in my care.)

May makers and sellers make and sell well, buyers and players buy and play well, and may all have a blessed year.
