This forum is for discussion of general flute events. If you are an individual who is conducting paid workshops or classes, please don't use this forum to advertise them (in fairness to other merchants who are forbidden to promote their work, websites, etc. on the forums). We will be adding an Events Calendar to the Flute Portal home page soon, and that will be the proper place for such things.

Next weekend, hundreds of thousands of individuals will be listening to my flute playing! Oh, did you think I only meant human beings? Well, a few of my own species will be listening too, but they will be in the minority. Saturday, April 21, I'll be playing flute overlooking the Salinas de San Pedro Salt Marsh in San Pedro, CA, as part of the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium's Earth Day Bird Festival. And on Sunday, April 22, I'll be playing at Panhe, a 9,000 year old sacred and ceremonial site to the local Acjachemen people, as well as providing my solar powered sound system for the fifth year for this event. I'll feel completely at ease and confident playing my branch flutes for these events, my own genetic being backed up by 4 billion years of evolution! So all I have to do is relax and be human... Sounds fantastic! I wish you all the wonders of the moment, all the gracious presence of those in attendance, all the beauty of nature and the world which shall surround you! I know your flute will meld with all around you in gorgeous harmony and any creature, human and otherwise, will be blessed to hear your music.

Jon,
Have a great time. I always remember my first Earth Day in 1970. We had a rally to save some sand dunes (and the ecosystems they harbored) on the southern shores of Lake Michigan. So when it comes to Earth Day, I always feel like I am there in spirit.

I'll look forward to your presence in Spirit then, Art! It's all connected, one round river now matter where we find ourselves on Earth Day, right? And besides, it's Earth Day everyday! Grateful for your caring spirit Art! ~ Jon
