It's not the best thread title for the subject, but here goes:

I'm looking for Portal members who live in or near Joplin Missouri, Miami Oklahoma or Pittsburg Kansas.

The objective is to meet and discuss forming a Tri-State area flute circle. I've not been able to find any existing flute circle closer than a 1.5 hr drive from Pittsburg, Ks.

If you are in the SE Kansas, SW Missouri, NE Oklahoma area within 45 minutes or so of Pittsburg, Ks and are interested, please post here or send me a message.

I'm not trying to steal anyone away from any other circle, but I'm thinking & hoping that there may be others nearby who also find themselves too far away from the established circles to attend regularly.

There are a number of Yahoo groups, and those very circles you mention, may have long distance members, who would welcome a closer venue.

Well, I know that the group I'll be visiting at the end of this month has one member from Jopin. (30 miles away)

I'll bring it up with him if he's there. There's the one other player here in town, but I have to catch him playing at Walmart as I have no idea who he is.
