The fourth annual Zion Canyon Native Flute School is scheduled for Sunday, May 2 through Thursday, May 6, 2010 in Snow Canyon, Utah. As usual it is held the week before the Zion Canyon Flute and Drum Festival so that people can take advantage of both venues. It is an opportunity for an extended learning experience at a reasonable price with some of the best teachers around--Clint and Vera Goss, Scott August (anazasi flute), Vince Chafin, Cornell Kinderknect and William Hoshal. In addition Xavier Quizas Yxayotl will be teaching a Mayan clay flute making class. There are beginning, intermediate and advanced tracks--something for everyone so check it out. Hope to see you there.

Yes!!! I cant wait. Ive already registered and got my room in St. George! This will be my first flute festival and I am looking forward to attending the class with Vince Chafin, attending the Flute and Drum fest at the end of the week , making and hearing some great music as well as making some new friends. It can't come soon enough for me (need a break from Los Angeles) but patience is a virtue right? See you all there.

I sure hope I can get the scratch together- it's only a mile from my house this year!

You know- I thought of that too- what fun! But ..........NOT!! The next question is how many wild fluties could the local jail hold, when they bust us all for whatever wild fluties do, in a loud and musical way at flute events lol !
There is some good camping around here, however- nice campground in Snow Canyon State Park of course, and another maybe 5-6 miles away, in Red Cliffs.

Last year, the Zion Flute Festival was only 3 blocks from my house, and I had to be away that week! So I have to do this one for sure.

Oooohh Kat, you mean you don't want a whole backyard of fluties, stomping on your flowers, drinking all your drinks, clogging the pody, and noodling in 12 different keys with drums pounding to an offset rhythm........I promise we won't stay up past three in the morning! tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif Besides, they will make us be quiet in Jail! sad.gif

After thinking all of that through, a trip to Hawaii during that week may be in order! cool.gif

Kat, I hope you have a magical, wonderful, stress-less fantastic time..... and pleasant dreams, after a short trip home to sleep in your own bed! wink.gif
