I found a neat spot in my house to play flute. I have archways between a few of my rooms and coved ceilings. When I play under the arches the flute sounds great.

It doesn't sound too big outside and I can't play at the ocean because the breeze is so strong, but this spot is great.

Have you found an amazing spot to play. Please share.

Hi Kally,
There is an alcove at the front door of my house. when I play there, the sound bounces right back at me.
It is one of my favorite spots, that I can just get up and go play.

It's kind of like singing in the shower... BUT I confess I am NO singer...

Anyplace in my house is fine, as my ceilings run from 10-12 ft. high, and the flute sounds a little like in a cave.

Interestingly the best place in my house to play happens to be in my garage with no cars in it. The sound bounces around just right. My favorite place to date that I have played was in the prison at White Mountain Apache reservation.

For the best natural acoustics, I like to play in my front entry and in the master bathroom. wink.gif Both areas are spacious, have hard tile floors, and very little around to absorb the sound. Makes for a nice "canyon" echo.

When I don't care so much about acoustics and just want to relax or meditate I go to my "zen porch" cool.gif and play along with the birds, wind chimes, crickets and cicadas (depending on the time of day or season), and a gurgling water fountain--and sometimes a little traffic or train noise, which offers a nice syncopated rhythm of its own.
