Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum but am looking forward to exploring it. I have lived in Japan for about 12 years and performed and taught the shakuhachi but moved back to Western New York this year. I am also very interested in the Native American traditions of flute playing and hope to learn a lot here and contribute however I can. If you are interested in a more detailed description of me you can visit my profile here:
http://www.grand-island-serene-gardens.com...hi-profile.htmlI am also a Japanese garden designer and have an interest in Native American organic growing practices. My wife and brother and I are opening a garden center here on Grand Island that will hopefully feature music events as well. I look forward to exploring the Native American and other various flute traditions that are represented here

Welcome to the Portal. I stayed on Grand Island on a Niagra Falls trip a few years back. Nice place! If you play at the Falls, you're going to need a Meadowlark flute to be able to hear yourself. The Falls are
loud...the 'Lark is louder!

Nice to have you join the forum here! I think you will find several other members here who are very enthusiastic about the Shakuhaci and you will likely have much to share.
