Emily Crabtree
As most of you know, I am a full time student. Recently I've been asked to do a presentation speech and demonstration for classes at Marshall (such as Music Appreciation and Student Recital) on Native American Flute. I've been trying to put together a small speech and a page with a few interesting facts and information for this occasion.

Does anyone have any websites, books, or advice for me?

Thanks a million, you guys are fantastic. smile.gif

You probably have discovered those already, but in case: www.flutetree.com and www.flutekey.com have some info.

You can get some good info from a couple of videos (available from Oregon Flute Store.... http://www.oregonflutestore.com/ ), Toubat, which is about Doc Payne, and Songkeepers, which features Hawk Littlejohn, in addition to what you find in the above links.

Hi Emily,
I think the info that Rick and Gerard mentioned you will find very useful. If I might add do not forget your personal experience with the flute. Why you play, what drew you to this instrument, what you hope to do with the flute (I think I remember you posting about the flute and healing) etc. This type of info is as important as what you might read about someone elses relationship with the flute. Good Luck and have fun with your presentation smile.gif

Emily,

I might also suggest INAFA (International Native American Flute Association) .

http://www.inafa.org/

I would think that if you wrote them, they'd be willing to assist.
